May 9th Pete Longo Sr.

May 9th, 2012

Pete Longo 89 years young, his son Pete Jr. and friends joined us wednesday morning aboard the Benchmark. We had to work for them but we managed 6 keeper bass on the clams throughout the morning and finished off the day with big blues and 2 more nice bass on bunker chunks. Nice job guys.

May 8th John Gargas

May 8th, 2012

John Gargas and his group joined us aboard the Benchmark on Tuesday. We made a couple of drops on the east end of the Bay with no luck and figured we were in for a long day, on my way to the west end we ran into tons of bird life and readings. After an hour and all the blues we could take we headed to the west end of the bay and picked away on nice bass to 33″ until days end.

May 5th cinco De Mayo

May 7th, 2012

Howard Wiley and his crew joined us aboard the Benchmark Saturday for a little bass fishing, we made our first drop with the clams and nothing, second drop. Nothing. I spotted a pile of birds outside the bay with the glasses and we made a run for them. It was instant with the blues on stretch plugs and after about an hour we had a bunch of blues and 2 nice bass before the tide started ripping again. We went back to clamming to try and pull off a few more fish but despite reading a pile of them we had no bites. I guess the super full moon really messed with us, all in all everyone had a good time and went home with some dinner.

May 1st. Benchmarks first trip in highlands

May 7th, 2012

We had the boys from Sanyo Corp out on the Benchmark Tuesday for the first trip out of the Highlands. It took a half hour or so to get them going but we picked all day on both the outgoing and incoming tides on clams with fish up to 20lbs. We also had a nice 20″ fluke, of course 4 days before openind day of the fluke season.
